Using our heads to do great things

Ontario has an illustrious history of scientific discovery, dating back to the shining days of Nobel laureate, Frederick Banting. It is a spirit we are proud to say is still very much alive in our province.

Welcome to Using Our Heads, a celebration of Ontario innovation that was supported by the Ontario Innovation Trust (OIT). It is an initiative that was undertaken to promote the vital scientific research being conducted in all corners of our province. Research that is having a positive impact not only on our economy, but also on our way of life.

Using Our Heads is a collection of twenty-two Feature Stories covering such diverse topics as quantum computing, cancer treatments, structural genomics and the bar code of life. It includes ten captivating Q & A sessions with some of Canada's leading names in science and business, from RIM co-founder Mike Lazaridis to John Evans, Chairman of the MaRS Discovery District. Plus, there are important Did You Know? facts and figures that illustrate the importance of research funding in our province.
